WHAT IS SHOCK TEST?

Shock environment is a transient physical accelerating, such as impact, free-fall, kick, earthquake, or explosion.

A shock pulse can be characterized by its peak acceleration, the duration, and the shape of the shock pulse (half sine, post-peak sawtooth, trapezoid, etc.).

There are various shock phenomena in the production, transportation and operation in various industries such as aviation, aerospace, navigation, weapons, and electronics, which have a great negative impact on the quality and reliability of the products. In order to solve this problem, a shock test was produced and developed on this basis. After more than one hundred years of development, the shock test technology has become quite mature, and it also plays an irreplaceable role in national defense and civil industries.

SHOCK/BUMP TEST SYSTEMS CME OFFER

CME is offering different types equipment for mechanical shock testing:

HOW TO PERFORM SHOCK TESTING

There are three ways to do shock testing:

01

Explosion method of pyrotechnic device

The advantage of the pyrotechnic product explosion method simulation test technology is that it can produce the most accurate simulation results, and can produce the high acceleration and high frequency range unique to the near-zone explosion shock environment. The main disadvantages are high test cost, poor safety and large dispersion of loading levels.

02

Mechanical shock method

The main advantages of shock simulation equipment are relatively low operating costs, good repeatability, and high predictability of loading levels, but they have some limitations in their ability to generate shock spectra.

03

Vibration table simulation method

With the development of vibration table control technology, shock testing that simulate low-amplitude complex shock environments have been realized on the vibrating table.

WHY IS SHOCK TESTING SO IMPORTANT?

Shock testing machine is used to measure and determine the impact resistance of products or packaging, and to evaluate the reliability and structural integrity of products in a shock environment. The impact testing equipment system can perform conventional half-sine wave, post-peak sawtooth wave, or square wave shock test to realize the shock energy that the product is subjected to in the actual environment, thereby improving the product or packaging structure.

CME shock/bump test system meet the requirements of MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-883, IEC68-2-27 and other shock testing machine standards.

FAQS OF SHOCK/BUMP&TEST&SYSTEM

How to choose a shock testing machine?

Before we giving out the mechanical shock test solution to our customer, we would ask for the test specifications as specimen weight & size, acceleration range, pulse duration, or if the customer have the specific requirements as 500@2ms, [email protected], it will be a great help to determine the shock testing machine.

What is the maximum acceleration of a shock testing machine can achieve?

Normally the shock testing machine capacity is defined as "Energy" not the acceleration. The maximum energy of a shock test device is calculated as Max. Energy=Max. acceleration x Min. Pulse duration

What is the difference between free fall type and force fall type shock test equipment?

The shock energy of free-falling shock tester is generated by gravitational potential energy (KRD10 & KRD11), and the energy of pressurized shock tester is generated by pneumatic energy storage (KRD13).

How to decide the shock table size?

The shock table size is determined by both specimen size and min pulse duration. The smaller pulse duration the smaller table is required.

What is the dual mass shock amplifier?

The shock amplifier is a device that uses the rebound energy of the ordinary impact shock table to realize the opposite impact between the servo table and the seat on the amplifier, so that the impact acceleration is multiplied.

How many channels of IPS-2000 Shock Control & Measurement Instrument?

IPS-2000 Shock Control & Measurement System integrated functions of control and measurement. The measurement system is mainly used to measure the acceleration, pulse duration, speed change and other shock test parameters during shock process, and all the measurement data can print out directly. The max. input of IPS-2000 is 8 channels, while 2 channels is the standard configuration.
