Why Should You Study MBBS Abroad after 12th: Explained!

It would not be wrong if we say that studying MBBS abroad is a dream for most of the students in India. Most parents, teachers, and relatives of Indian families motivate their children to become doctors. Most influential people in Indian society almost always recommend studying either medicine or engineering, though medicine is the priority for most of them.

It is also seen whether there are two kids in a family, the chances are one will be a doctor and the other will be an engineer. This is the dream of most of the Indian parents in this age as well. Although the engineering colleges in almost all states have increased dramatically over the past few years, the seats for MBBS are still limited, and so to the medical colleges.

Let’s look at a couple of statistics to understand this further, and particularly why MBBS abroad for Indian students is the best option these days rather than wasting valuable time:

There are approx 50,000 MBBS seats available all over in India combined with all medical schools, including government and private medical schools; whereas 10 lakh MBBS aspirants appear in various All India and state level entrance tests every year, which is now comes under one test, i.e. NEET, which is one of the toughest exams in India. This means, that every year, only 5% or less of the MBBS aspirants from all over the country secure their seats in government medical schools.Currently, India has a total of 612 government-run and 291 private medical colleges.

Most of the private institutes have a capitation or donation fee ranging from 15 to 20 lakh, which is exorbitantly higher in some colleges with a yearly fee of 8 to 9 lakh. It is approx 40 to 50 lakh, one needs to invest to complete an MBBS program from a private medical school in India, which is beyond imagination for any middle-class family, even if the student secures a seat through entrance tests, MBBS remains forbidden fruit because of this abnormal fee structure.

But, all hope is not lost for sure when you study MBBS abroad. Aspiring physicians can now study MBBS in one of the top medical schools abroad. You can study MBBS in Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal or Bangladesh, or in any other country in the world to make your dreams come true, that too at a very reasonable fee structure.

You can study MBBS in one of the best medical colleges in the world, where the education standard is very high, availing other benefits like best fee structure, bespoke clinical training and global exposure. Many students aspire to become doctors and their parents tend to have their doubts or be apprehensive about studying MBBS abroad. But, the world has become a global village now. Therefore, studying MBBS in a foreign medical school in Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Bangladesh or Nepal or any other country abroad has become easier and comfortable than ever before.

Some students also ask whether MBBS without NEET is possible or not. Some say it is possible, which is intrinsically wrong. MBBS in India and other parts of the world without NEET is not possible. Universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, or other countries that offer MBBS to Indian students are approved by NMC, previously known as MCI, requiring NEET score from the candidates. The best thing is – if you have a valid NEET score, you can get admission to MBBS in a foreign medical school which is approved by NMC and WHO, there you don’t need to have a high NEET score, which is required to get admission in government medical schools in India.

Let’s look at some of the pros for Indian students to study an MBBS abroad, including the top medical schools abroad, especially in the above mentioned countries.
