Remember when we were in high school and our books (especially the science ones) contained a section called “Case Study”? That section included excerpts from the extensive research done on a particular “case” (a person, place, object, or phenomenon). In a similar vein, a Case Study presentation presents the researched case data in the form of slides. As you might know, it is quite popular a thing in the field of scientific research. But do you also know that, nowadays, businesses have started using case study presentations to grow? It has a slightly different connotation in the world of business than it has in the world of science. In the entrepreneurial world, case studies refer to deep analysis of a particular problem and a set of proposed solutions- the solutions that have worked in the past and might work in the future as well. Given below are some tips that will help you to improve your marketing case study presentations:
Include real-life examples
What is research without real-life examples, right? Make sure to include real-life examples that show that you have researched diligently. Case study presentations should never be superficial, fake, imitative, or plagiarized. According to professional PowerPoint designers, you should research well before presenting a case study. In scientific case studies, where you collect facts and data, this seems like a no-brainer. But in the marketing case study, it is difficult to be specific, and factual. To tackle this problem, you must acquaint yourself with the clients’ history thoroughly. If your prospect is unable to relate to the situation described in the presentation, your effort is worthless.
Make up a story
When we hear the word “story”, we automatically associate it with something fanciful and unreal. However, the stories in case studies are based on real evidence. In every business-marketing presentation, stories are essential catalysts that drive action. This is no different in a Case Study presentation. Most of the time in a marketing case study, the story of an existing happy, pleased, and satisfied client is shown as a case study to the prospective clients.
Underline multiple solutions but emphasize the best one
Start by defining the problem clearly. Multiple solutions are possible to the given problem. You can showcase all of them in the presentation, but emphasize the one you consider the best. To illustrate it further, consider this example. Suppose your case is the previous client who purchased the fully automatic washing machine. Now that client could have purchased a semi-automatic, or a portable washing machine as well. There were multiple solutions to his problem. But you need to explain how picking up the fully automatic machine was the most optimal solution for the given client and the rest of the clients who are in the same shoes as him.
Keep editing until you get a refined final draft
The biggest challenge with a case study is that you have so much to tell. After the research is done, you feel like every data that you have collected is worth mentioning. It is overwhelming to modify anything. But editing is the most crucial part of a case study presentation. Most professional PowerPoint designers are considered experts simply because they’re masters of editing. Write a draft, re-write, and then edit. Now repeat this activity several times until you get a highly-polished final draft with all the relevant information.
Highlight positive results
Your case study is supposed to leave your company or brand in a positive light. The problem-solving approach should always lead to your case being happy about the results he got from purchasing your product, or service.
