Right from choice of manufacturing machinery, the quality of IWL's products are it's foremost concern. Raw Materials undergo rigorous testing at IWL's lab, before they are accepted into the production process . Finished products are tested at multiple stages, to ensure compliance to specifications Qualified chemists, supported by well equipped laboratories, at all our plants constantly monitor quality.All test results and manufacturing parameters are captured and stored in IWL's MIS software, ensuring complete traceability and instant retrieval of data. And it does not end there! Customer feedback is constantly solicited and utilised to continuously improve product quality.

IWL India History
IWL India Limited was incorporated in 1988, more than 30 years ago IWL was born as Integrated Waterproofing Limited, a company established in the joint sector with Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), ICICI, and IFCI as shareholders. The Company was set up to produce revolutionary waterproofing membranes previously unavailable in the Indian market.
We went into production in 1990 and in the first year of operations, our turnover was a meager Rs. 2 crores. Over the year, as can be seen from the timeline, we have grown in stature and size and now can generate a turnover of more than Rs. 100 crores.
Despite our growth and success, we remain customer-oriented and focus on the quality and performance of our products. IWL is an ISO 9001-certified company. IWL first obtained the certification in 1994 And was the first Indian company to be ISO certified for the manufacture of modified bitumen membranes.
IWL has a marketing and support presence in every State of India. Our all-India team of marketing and application engineers is on call 24/7.
IWL’s internet-based order processing system allows for instant transmission of customer’s requirements to the factory. We offer instant delivery of ordered products and services.

Capt. A.K. Bansal
Chairman & Managing Director
Capt Bansal became the youngest Master in the Indian Merchant Navy at age 25. He then went on to acquire an L.L.B (Hons) from University College, University of London. He became a Barrister at Law, of Lincoln’s Inn London. He has had a distinguished and diverse career, significantly contributing to the Indian shipping industry in various capacities. Internationally, he also assisted the Governments of UAE and Oman to update their ancient maritime laws and implement a historic road project to link them with Europe, through Qatar, Saudi Arabia & Turkey via the Istanbul Bridge. In 1988, he promoted and established IWL India Limited with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO), ICICI, and IFCI as co-promoters. He brings to IWL, a wealth of national and international experience and is an inspiration, guide, and mentor to the IWL family.
Capt. Satya Mitra Bagga
CEO
Capt Satya Mitra Bagga started his career as a sailor with V ships where he spent close to 15 years sailing across the globe. He later came ashore and became the Managing Director of Maersk Training in India and Malaysia for ten years. He joined IWL as head of sales for North and West before becoming the CEO. Satya likes to read and travel in his spare time. He is settled in Chennai with his wife and two lovely daughters.
Facilities
The manufacture of Polymeric waterproofing membranes and anti-corrosive tapes requires complete facilities for handling and processing of bitumen. IWL in collaboration with European experts, set up a completely automated, digitally controlled, and monitored facility at Alamathy (near Chennai), its first factory, for the above purposes. It was built in 1988 and commissioned in 1990. It is spread over 250,000 square feet of industrial land. It is close to sources of raw materials, especially the oil refinery at Manali (Tamil Nadu) which is the major supplier of Bitumen. It is also near the Chennai Port to facilitate imports and exports.
