Barron\'s Test of Mechanical Aptitude (BTMA)

This test deals in detail with topics such as hydraulics, pulleys and levers, gears and belt drives, electricity, shape and volume, heat and its properties, gravity, velocity, structures, slopes, and plains. Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude (WTMA)

Wiesen Test is conducted especially in enterprises where the candidates have to operate and maintain the machinery. Enterprises conduct this test to measure the skills and abilities of candidates in understanding, operating, and servicing machinery and equipment.

The test form includes 60 questions that have to be answered in 30 minutes. A good number of topics in this test are similar to ones in Barron’s Test. But, Wiesen Test also has questions related to the center of gravity, acoustics, optics, inertia, and centrifugal forces (along with their impact).

Some enterprises calculate the test scores in two different ways. While one method is by taking the direct score of the candidate, another method is where they compare the scores of shortlisted candidates and see who among them has better knowledge and is more efficient.

Stenquist Test of Mechanical Aptitude (STMA)

Simple is one of the simplest and common tests used by enterprises. It doesn’t exclusively target any topic or subject. Instead, it has questions related to different topics. Candidates have to choose the most appropriate answer from the given four choices for the question. The question here is usually an image.

The test form contains 15 questions. The time provided to solve them is 10 minutes. Enterprises use this test for entry-level positions where candidates have little or no work experience. Also, this test is used in the initial stages of recruiting to filter as many candidates as possible.
