Where Single People Hang Out in Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica

With a happening nightlife, endless food choices, and a ton of tours and activities to try, it is no wonder
Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica is a great place for single people. For most people, it can be a little
intimidating to come to a new city or (even worse) a new country as a single person but if you’re looking
for other singles to hang out with then Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica is the place to be!

At the Beach

As one of the most touristic beach towns along Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast, Tamarindo Beach can get
busy, especially during the high season from December to May. During this busy season, the beach can
get pretty packed, making it an easy place to strike up conversations. You can buy Piña Coladas served in
a fresh coconut from vendors along the beach, which could give you the courage you need to walk up to
a stranger and say Hola! There are also many bars lining the beach for bar hopping, which you can
approach right from the sand – no shirt, no shoes, no problem!

Take Classes

Taking a class is a great way for single people to meet. This way, you already know that you share some
of the same interests. Taking a beginner surf lesson at Iguana Surf or Witch’s Rock will help you meet
someone who isn’t afraid to try something new, not-to-mention athletic and adventurous. A yoga class
is another great meeting place for singles who care about their health and well-being. There is a yoga
studio downtown at Plaza Tamarindo or you can take a morning yoga session on the beach in front of El
Be! Club every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 am.

Sunset Cruise

While there are several sunset catamaran cruises available from the Tamarindo Beach area, the best
choice for singles to mingle is aboard the Marlin del Rey. This catamaran tour offers a top-shelf open
bar, lunch, music, and dancing! You can even go snorkeling or head out on a kayak when you reach the
secluded bay and beach destination. The tour ends with a sunset view over the ocean, making the vibes
ripe for romance.

Pub Crawl

Every Sunday afternoon you get a chance to hang out with other singles at the Beach and Pool Crawl.
The group meets at El Be! Club at noon before taking off on an old school bus. After a few drinks and
mingling with fellow crawlers, the bus heads out along the coast. With tunes bumping you will get to
know your fellow crawlers as the bus takes you to explore three secret spots. There are pool parties
with a DJ, margaritas with live entertainment, and beach volleyball. The last stop takes you to a beach
bonfire to enjoy a fabulous sunset with your new friends. The party doesn’t stop here! The bus ride back
to Tamarindo often turns into a dance party and, for some, the highlight of the tour.

Tamarindo Night Market

There are two weekly markets (ferias) in Tamarindo. Both have vendors selling everything from
handmade trinkets to fresh produce. The Saturday Market is held from 8 am to 2 pm near the skate
park. The best place for singles to hang out, however, is the Tamarindo Night Market. This funky market
features hot food, kombucha, cocktails, and interesting live performances that make for a fun and highly
social atmosphere. The market runs from 6 to 9 pm every Thursday at Plaza Palmas by the Banco
Nacional. It is a great place to grab some food and drinks before you head out on the town.

The Nightlife

The most popular time of day for people to get out and mingle in Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica is sunset.
El Vaquero is a popular beach bar to watch this daily show by mother nature. The bar often has live
music from 4 to 7 pm along with happy hour food and drink specials. This is also a great spot to watch
the beach performers hold their nightly fire show, which typically takes place after sunset around 7 pm.

Sharky’s Sports Bar is a popular hang-out for tourists to watch the game, sing karaoke, or even play beer
pong. This lively sports bar offers nightly drink specials so you can find a deal every night of the week –
we recommend Margarita Mondays!

If you want to have the classic nightclub experience in Tamarindo, you will need to head to Pacifico.
Wednesday is ladies’ night, Thursday is reggae night, and on Saturday night it is the place where
everyone gathers. Things don’t usually start happening here until nearly 11 pm as it is usually the place
where everyone ends up, especially on the weekends. There is plenty of seating, two dance areas, and
lots of bar space which makes for a very social setting.

On Friday nights, Crazy Monkey is the place to be! This open-air club has a lot going on - if you can make
it up the long staircase! If you are not sure what you want to do, then Crazy Monkey is a good choice.
From aerial dancing to salsa dancing to pool parties, the Crazy Monkey does it all. DJs spin tunes late
into the night, mixing a large variety of party tunes. Sometimes there are two-for-one cocktails, making

it easy for you to buy a drink for a stranger and get the chance to chat with another single person. There
is a small cover charge at the Crazy Monkey but it is worth it!

One of the best things you can do to help you find that special someone is to get a Tamarindo vacation
rental, or if you plan to stay longer, a long-term rental in Tamarindo to ensure you have a home base in
this vibrant beach town. As its popularity grows, it can be tough to find a good long-term rental in
Tamarindo, which is why it is best to put your trust in the hands of an expert to find you the home or
Tamarindo vacation rental of your dreams.
