Keep the visible layers with a texture comparison

A texture comparison is hard to reproduce when the export does not record which layers were visible. Save a view of the layer panel with the comparison so another person can find the same arrangement.

Before exporting, capture the layer names and visibility. Include any clipping relationship used by the texture, and keep the editable file beside the export.

Change only the texture under review when making a simple comparison. Keep the crop and underlying image fixed. If you change the base image too, describe both changes so the review does not attribute everything to the texture.

Give each comparison a short identifier and map it to the visible layers in your notes. “B: paper grain visible, dust layer hidden” gives a reviewer something more useful than a file called final.

Attach feedback to that comparison. If the next revision adds a visible layer, keep the earlier record and make a new one. The comment will still point to the arrangement the reviewer actually saw.
