Honda City

Honda City is an affordable sedan that is currently priced for Rp 352.6 million. Indeed the price is quite expensive for a small sedan.

But with this price consumers may expect more characteristics. One of them is the safety equipment.

When launching its facelift version in 2017, PT Honda Prospect Motor is indeed not too stingy about the safety aspects of the cheapest sedan. To support the safety aspect, this car has features that won’t be disappointing.

Let’s talk about the braking system first. To control the pace and support deceleration maneuvers, Honda only equipped City disc brakes at the front.

The disc brakes are equipped with ABS. For the handbrake feature itself, it still adheres to the type of lever, not yet an electric parking brake. Not only ABS, the braking system of this car is embedded with the Brake Overide System and Emergency Stop Signal.

Supporting Safety in Seats

When entering the cabin, you will find the seats all of which use adjustable head rest. With rear seats included, seats for middle passengers are also available with adjustable head rest.

For those of you who need toddler passengers’ safety, there’s a booster seat in Honda City as support for toddler passengers.

Active Safety Features

Unfortunately, Honda is rather stingy about air bags, aka airbags. This small sedan only has two airbags for the driver and front passenger only.

To support safety, Honda City also has several active safety features. What’s first is the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). This feature will help control by maintaining stability when maneuvering or cornering.

The second is the Hill Start Assist (HSA) feature. This feature will make it easier for the driver when the City is in a traffic jam on the climb, or forcing it to stop on the uphill road. There’s no need to step on the brakes directly, because HSA electrically activates the brakes and the car does not reverse.

For more information, Honda City is equipped with a capacity of 1,500 cc engine with VTEC technology. Although the cylinder head still adheres to SOHC, but the City's maximum power can touch 120 HP at 6,600 Rpm rotation while the torque reaches 145 Nm at 4,600 Rpm. Honda provides a CVT transmission for City only with a front drive system.
