Astrological compatibility or synastry is the branch of astrology that studies relationships by comparing natal horoscopes. A natal horoscope is a chart or map of the angles of the planets located in the Solar System and their positions in the zodiac at the exact time of a person’s birth. These angles are beneficial to represent the positive and negative relationships between the planets. In his book Synchronicity, Carl Jung demonstrates the compatibility between zodiac signs in modern times. Jung was inspecting the nature of coincidence for a study. The astrology technique has the fundamental concept of matching horoscopes that come out from constellations occupied by the Ascendant (Lagna) at the time of the births of the bride and groom. Every constellation shows a different nature regarding their sex, casts, Gana (God/demon), Gotra, humour, primordial elements, consonants, and vowels.

Although it is written in the ancient books that these matches are to be looked at only in the case of an arranged marriage, horoscope matching has little relevance if the minds match.
