PictureHow could I resist a using a picture like this?

I'm sure all readers have authors they haven't checked out yet but they haven't. So many books. So much time. So much not a speed reader. I did read a Michael Sullivan book and still need to read the second one I think I have checked out. I had a good feeling about him and I was right.

Brandon Sanderson: Okay this is not totally true since I have read about seventy pages of Final Empire. It was a library book. It was due. It happens. Also I'm not sure where I want to start with him.

Now this author was destined to fly into my orbit since I have read the Wheel Of Time series. I do plan on going back to it so I can do a reread/finish the series. I read about nine of the books. Now the series is complete but I do want to finish the Sword Of Truth series before diving back into this one. I'm eager to get into the spin off series. The whole hoopla with the cover art just made me more eager to read the book. I'm still puzzled about why an author can't have an opinion about his own book cover when people judge covers all the time. Have you ever heard anyone say anything nice about the Vampire Academy covers? I haven't and I don't think they're that bad.

Robin Hobb: I don't know why I never picked up a book by her but that is about to change since I have the first book in the Elder Realms series ready for me to read by April or possibly before April depending on when certain books are finished. Not that I gave it much thought but at one point I thought she was a guy since there are a lot of male fantasy writers out there. Maybe I just associated her with Robin Cook who I'm pretty sure is a man. Yep I read medical thrillers. I'd see her name when I'd randomly roam the shelves at the library. I have checked out Tami Hoag. It has been a while but I think unlike Allison Brennan books her books focus more on the victim and the killer instead of the cops or feds catching the killer.

Morgan Rhodes: I've read her adult books under Michelle Rowen so I want to check out her young adult books. The adult books are chick lit vampire kinda books. If I like an author under one name I'm gonna check out books under the other name since the odds are going that I'm going to enjoy the books.

Mira Grant: I discoverd Seanan at the library. My introduction to her was the October Daye series. Damn why does the library only have about one copy of each of those days? I've never read under her other name but I do have one or possibly two checked out. I think Into The Drowning is about mermaids and possibly a Little Mermaid retelling or something. I really loved her Indexing duology. Free to read on Kindle Unlimited if you have it. A fun take on fairy tales and of course many people were introduced to her via her series Wayward Children.

Brent Weeks: This is another author who I've started reading a book by and it was a library book so it had to go back. Since I have to check out a paperback I often would get the book from another library so I wouldn't have as many renewals so I wouldn't always be able to finish the book. It was the Dark Angel series. I think that's the name of it but I did read enough to know that I'd enjoy his books. I just get a feeling on whether or not a author I'm reading is destined to become one of those authors whose books I eagerly find and read.

Miles Cameron: Sadly the library only has the first book The Red Knight. It sounds like a fantasy series I would really get into.

Sebastien De Castel: The Greatcoats series sounds really good and so does the young adult series. I think the second book just came out in that one while the Greatcoats is complete although it sounds like more is going to take place in that world.

Octavia Butler: If I'm not mistaken I think she was the first  black author to write science fiction. I do have a couple books by her on hold. And at the same time I'm debating on whether or not to finish the Vampire Huntress series by LA Banks. I'm not sure if she finished that series before her death. It has a hint of Buffy because Damali works with a group. She's a hip hop star and they are black. I've read four or more of the books and really enjoyed them. It can be tricky relying on the library since sometimes they are just weird when it comes to series which is probably why I have four locations to supply me with my book fix.

Dawn Cook: I think there are just four and it appears to be a fantasy series that is young adult. I love the Rachel Morgan books she wrote under Kim Harrison.
