Let’s start by focusing on our hair strands. If your hair strand is fine and has a loose ‘S' shape when positioned freely, then you have 2A wavy hair. This hair type is usually flat in appearance thus requiring additional volume in the form of products and treatments.

Hairstyles for Type 2A wavy hair

Type 2A hair is super fine in texture and therefore may result in looking flat if you have long hair. The ideal way to add bounce and volume to hair is to get a shoulder length hair cut to let your hair bounce freely.

Type 2 B wavy Hair

Type 2 B wavy hair has a more distinct ‘S' shape than Type 2A hair which naturally support a wavy beach look, effortlessly. With slight curls in the end, this hair type adds definition to your face. However this type of hair tend to fizz more often which can be treated using frizz blocking hair care products, natural softening agents like yogurt and honey masks.

Type 2C Hair

Type 2C hair has a very close resemblance to curly hair where hair strands tend to spiral into curls. The texture of this hair-type is coarser, thicker and difficult to style than the above two types of hair. This type of hair is dry in nature and also tends to frizz up a lot and thus requires intense care using frizz free products and treatments.

  • Shampoo

A shampoo that suits your friend may not suit you because of the different hair type, hair texture and difference in environment. So always choose products that supply to your individual needs as often times our known needs change with time and the surroundings our hair is exposed to. For frizzy and coarse wavy hair, use a frizz free shampoo and anti-frizz conditioner. For dry and brittle wavy hair, opt for an intensely moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. You can also choose hydrating hair masks and leave on conditioners for deeper hydration.

  • Drying

If you have coarse and dry hair, try avoiding hair dryers and electric appliances as these can further dry out your hair and cause split ends, instead, try drying your hair naturally. After your hair washing routine, do not rub your towel on your hair vigorously. Our hair strands are most probe to breakage when wet, rubbing the hair with a towel when its vulnerable will damage your hair and also make it look frizzy.  Instead use a microfiber towel and squeeze out the excess water out of your hair. You can also wrap your towel around your hair to soak up the excess water without stripping it off moi
