“Never give up.”
When adversity finds you on your journey through life, when every opportunity reveals itself to be a dead end, this is the only choice you are left with. That being said, it's easier said than done. We try our best to abide by our convictions, but the exhaustion is overwhelming.
Let's understand how to master the art of never giving up.
Conviction:
Why shouldn't you give up? Why shouldn't you just let it be and conform when things aren't working your way? Why not wrap up the business and simply call it quits? In order to master the art of not giving up, we must be fully clear with our purpose in life. What is it that we want? These questions are integral to our overall sense of reality. Discover your conviction and find something worth fighting for.
The End Goal
When you figure out your conviction, the next step is to envision the beautiful moment once you achieve it. Close your eyes and visualize the surroundings, the feeling of triumph and bliss. Does it bring you happiness? Now, latch on to it. Relentlessly work toward that feeling of ecstasy. Through all the difficulties in life, know that it'll all be worthwhile.
Discipline Over Motivation
When we're tired of the thought of moving forward, we seek motivation. The words in this blog are a source of motivation for you to persist. Motivation is a good thing. It gives us a push, a reminder, that tells us to keep moving forward. We are filled with a newfound hunger to succeed. But motivation is like passing clouds; here, one moment, gone the next. What you need is discipline. Discipline is non-negotiable consistency and dedication toward your craft. It is the practice of showing up, no matter the circumstances. Perhaps the reason why you're facing setbacks in your life is because of the lack of discipline.
Make Adversity Your Friend
The key to resilience is not protecting yourself from adversity but befriending it. Instead of sulking over a mishap in your life, see the beauty in it. Remember, diamonds are only made when put under immense pressure and heat. Use your inconvenience and the anger that comes with it as an opportunity to become better. Utilize sadness and grief as fuel to reach your goal.
Trust the Process
The bigger your ambition, the more challenges you will face. That's just how life is. Some have it easier than others. But that doesn't mean there isn't any success written for you. When life beats you down, dust yourself back up and trust the process. Every difficulty is a teacher. If it is taking too long, maybe you're not ready to receive the blessing you wish for. Trust the process. You'll get there.
