A New Initiative by SMRT ‘Node'

Recently, SMRT, under the leadership of influential Chairman Mr. Seah Moon Ming, has kicked off a new initiative called the Node. As part of the initiative, SMRT has installed setups across selected seven train stations to allow passengers to pick up e-magazines and ebooks for daily commutation filled with learning and excitement. The Node initiative is running successfully across different SMRT train stations like the North-South Line platform of Woodlands MRT station and between Berths 1 and 13 at the bus interchange of the Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub. 

Also, in the coming weeks, the initiative will be rolled out across the other five stations of SMRT, namely Bishan, Orchard, and Tiong Bahru MRT stops, as well as the Bukit Panjang Integrated Transport Hub and Choa Chu Kang bus interchange. 

Seamless Way to Scan & Pick eResource 

As already mentioned, Nodes are available across different stations of SMRT. It allows the passengers to scan the QR code linked to their particular choice of eResource, and they will get redirected to the NLB mobile app. From there, passengers have the convenience to select a particular choice of e-magazine or e-book and start reading the same while traveling on the train. To capture the interest of passengers, some of the leading titles available on the Nodes are Time Magazine, National Geographic, and Reader's Digest. Also, there is NLB's YouTube playlist available for commuters to watch a particular choice of videos, and the list will be refreshed every single month. 

Commuters' Interest in Nodes Keep Growing Extensively 

This initiative by SMRT has definitely garnered the interest level of passengers to an optimum extent. Different passengers have different opinions about this interesting learning run. For some passengers, it's an enjoyable thing to read something interesting while going towards a long city-wise journey. On the other side, several professionals traveling via SMRT find Node as a better way to read interesting books to enhance one's knowledge efficiently.
