In its official notification, the Staff Selection Commission announces the SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern for ‘Grade C & Grade D' jobs. Computer-Based Mode will be used to administer the SSC Stenographer 2022 exam. There are two levels to the SSC Stenographer exam. Only those who complete the first stage of the exam will be permitted to go to the second. There will be a total of 200 questions on the exam paper. The SSC Steno exam has a total score of 200. General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension are the three components of the SSC 2022 Steno CBT.

Stages of SSC Stenographer
There are two stages to the selection procedure for SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D. These are the following:

Pattern of the SSC Steno Computer Based Test
The computer-based test is the first step of the SSC Stenographer exam (for both Grade C and Grade D) (CBT). The following table lists the various sections, number of questions, and maximum marks for the CBT:

Marking Scheme for SSC Stenographer 2022
- Each question will be worth one point.
Every incorrect response carries a penalty. An erroneous answer will result in a deduction of 1/4 of the mark assigned to the question. - There are no deductions for questions that are not answered.
- The CBT will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
- The exam is not timed independently, which means that the three components will not have separate time slots within which they must be completed.
- The other sections, with the exception of English Language & Comprehension, will be bilingual, i.e. in Hindi and English.
- It should be remembered that candidates with disabilities will be given an additional 40 minutes (benchmark disabilities such as blindness, locomotory disability and cerebral palsy).
Pattern for the SSC Steno Skill Test
The major responsibility of SSC Stenographers in Grades C and D is to take notes from dictation using shorthand. Stage 2 of the SSC Stenographer exam assesses applicants' ability in this area. Shortlisted candidates from Stage 1 will be given 10 minutes of dictation in English/Hindi and their speed will be assessed.

- It is important to remember that those with disabilities (such as blindness, locomotory difficulty, and cerebral palsy) will be given various amounts of time. Candidates for Stenographer Grade C will be allowed 55 minutes to complete English transcription and 75 minutes to complete Hindi transcription. Candidates for Stenographer Grade D will be allowed 70 minutes to complete the English portion and 90 minutes to complete the Hindi portion.
- The Skill Test will be a qualifying test, with the commission determining the qualifying standards for various groups of candidates.
- The Skill Test will be held in the commission's various Regional/Sub Regional offices or other locations as determined by the commission.
