Details of Waveguide Probe

Waveguide Probes are ideally suited for near-field measurements. These probes are used to sample the radiated electromagnetic field of an antenna under test while minimally perturbing the incident field. They are designed for minimum VSWR, long-term stability and excellent repeatability.

 

Application of Waveguide Probe

Electric fields originate primarily from cables and wires that are not terminated with a load, and from printed circuit board wires leading to high impedance logic circuits. The simplest electric field probe is essentially a small antenna. Electric field probes can easily detect over-the-air signals, such as cellular downlink signals. These high-power airborne signals may require increased attenuation to prevent overloading the spectrum analyzer.
