  1. Ayodhya hilltop: 

You can reach the Ayodhya hilltop via Sirkabad road. Purulia railway station to Ayodhya Pahar the distance is approx 42 km. On the way, you can visit the Khairabera dam. This is one of the best sightseeing on the Purulia Tour

If you want you can visit Sita Kund sightseeing on walking. Only 1km distance from Purulia Hotels. The “Sita Kund“, also called “Burburidham”. The legend here is that, during the year of exile, Sree Ramchandra had come to Ayodhya hill with Sita Devi to ‘Dandak ‘. To quench the thirst of Sita Devi, Sree Ram perched an arrow through the earth and extracted the water. 

Another interesting sightsee is ‘Disum Sendra” at Purulia. Disum Sendra is the hunting festival of Purulia tribals, drink the holy water from the Sita Kund, and then start hunting in the jungle.

Bamni falls sightseeing is very classy for the nature lover, but the entire waterfalls only are seen from the bottom of the lake. The stairs are very long and rough to get down. Please reserve extra time whenever you visit Bamni falls. The waterfall can be seen a little when getting down a minimum of 250 stares, but this is not recommended for senior citizens.

After the Khairabera dam, you can visit the Purulia chaw mask-making village. It is also called the village of masks. The mask of the Chow dance is made here. There are various kinds of masks made in this village.

You can watch the mask-making process and buy the stuff from them. The famous artist Padmashree Gambhir Shing’s birthplace is in the Charida village.

Chhau dance of Bengal is very famous. This year (2022) Chhau dance mask will happen along with a fair in December month in this village.

Charida‘village is the prime attraction for shopping. All are the famous handmade products made here. You can buy masks from there.

  1. Lahoria Shiva Temple Purulia

The Lahoria Shiva Temple is right next to the Lower Dam. The temple is very ancient and has historical values.

Chaitra Sankranti ‘(a Hindu festival), a two-days fair-Laharia Baba’s ‘Gajan Mela‘ takes place a few km away from the Ayodhya crossing. It’s also a popular tourist spot in Purulia.

 

  1. Lower Dam and upper dam Purulia

The Lower and Upper Dam is a very attractive place for Purulia Tour Package. It’s a pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant. The water flowed from the upper dam to the lower dam and created hydroelectricity.

You can feel the Intoxication smell of Mahua from the forest. A dam has been constructed for the Murguma river, and a water reservoir also has been developed.
