How do you effectively prepare for this epic adventure? With a few tips, a little preparation, and some fire clothes for a rave or festival, you’ll soon be fully equipped to have the time of your life.
Draw on Your Other Experiences
In many ways, an EDM or music festival requires the same prep as any other trip, so draw on those experiences. Think about what worked and didn’t for previous road trips, concerts, and camping trips. As for festival-specific preparation, pick up a festival map and artist schedule for everyone involved. If you are going with friends, make a point to watch out for each other and establish a rendezvous point once you arrive.
Bring Cash and a Secure Place to Store Your Essentials
While the world may be moving toward an increasingly cashless economy, hard currency is still an integral part of festivals. That’s why it’s always good to have at least a little bit of cash on hand, and you should stash it in a safe place like a money belt if you can. Likewise, keep your phone and other valuables in a safe place, and never leave them unattended in your tent. While in crowds, keeping your phone and valuables in a zippered pocket will impede pickpocketing. At festivals, food and drinks, including water, tend to be pricey. So, instead of or in addition to bringing some disposable water bottles, consider packing along several multi-gallon water containers and a reusable water bottle. You’ll want a lot of water because you’ll want to hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more. Attending EDM and music festivals is generally a thirsty undertaking for a number of reasons.
Be Sure You Have Wet Wipes and Hand Sanitizer
