Most of us experience power outages at least for once in a year. When the blackout lasts for over an hour, it causes major inconvenience. It not only causes discomfort in usual life but it restricts from doing anything that most of us prefer doing during leisure at home.  Here are the few tips which will help you to get through a power outage with ease.

1. Alternative Charging

Your phone will help you to stay connected with others during the outage. Smartphones also have flashlights, which is again very handy during the power outage. However, you have to save the battery of your phone for the hours of need. So, close all the unused app on your phone. You can also put the phone in aeroplane mode. You can connect your phone with your laptop for charging it. You can also charge your phone in your car.

2. Take Steps

During the power cut, it might be difficult to spend time at home. In that case, you can consider taking a walk in the outside of your home. You can also consider visiting the nearby shopping mall. If you have pools in your locality, then you can also consider visiting there.

3. DIY Battery

During the power outage, if you run out of batteries for your electronic items, you can convert your AA batteries into AAA batteries. You will need a ball of foil for this. Insert the ball of foil between the negative end of the battery, and it will start to generate power.

4. Mirrors

The mirror in your home can't create light, but it can reflect it. It is true that most of the mirrors are not 100% reflective, but still, they can bounce most of the light back. In this way, you will be able to increase the brightness of a room.

5. Unplug

During the momentary power surge, you should unplug all of your electronic items such as your computer, TV, etc. If you don't do this, then it might cause damage. You should also consider using surge protectors in your home.

6.  Crayon

You can also light the pointy part of the crayon to generate light. A crayon will remain lit for a few hours. However, one should only do this in the presence of an adult. While trying this method, one has to be careful to prevent potential fire risk.

These are the few tips that you should follow in order to get through a power outage. You might also experience power outage only in your home, while the other houses in your area have power. In that case, you have to understand that there's some problem with your electric line. So, you have to call a Point Cook electrician. If you don't have the number of an electrician, then you can consider performing a Google search. But before making the call, you should check his ratings.

An expert will check your transmission line and figure out the problem. And after that, the electrician will fix the issue and get the power back in your home. So, this is all for now. Hope you have enjoyed reading it.
