Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, is one of my favorite metropolises in Rajasthan, and not without reason. Pieced at the nadir of the massive Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur has a plethora of options –- right from sightseeing and shopping, to desert safaris and unique food happenings. Presently are 6 places to visit in Jodhpur that you can not miss on your following trip to this beautiful megalopolis.

 1. Mehrangarh Fort

One of Jodhpur’s most popular lodestones, the Mehrangarh Fort rises 400 bottoms above the megalopolis of Jodhpur and makes for a spectacular sight. The fortification dates back to the 15th century and is home to multiple beautiful palaces, the most popular being the Sheesh Mahal, or Palace of Glasses. Head to the top of the fortification to take in a splendid hoot’s eye view of the megalopolis of Jodhpur, sprawled out below. While you ’re presently, do n’t forget to take some enjoyable selfies with the megalopolis views in the ground. Drop by the salon shop for fun monuments and gifts before you leave.

The demesne was created to restore native factory species in the region. It has a rugged, hilly terrain and boasts of beaucoup walking trails, perfect for a long hike. This is also a great place for boo and butterfly watching, and if you’re a devil, either there’s an option for ziplining too!

 3. Umaid Bhavan Palace

Synonymous with Jodhpur, the grand Umaid Bhavan Palace is quite a favourite among rubbernecks visiting the megacity. Home to Maharaja Gaj Singh and his family, half of this palace is now being operated by the Taj Group as a heritage hostel. The other half of the palace is the royal hearth and also has a gallery boasting of royal pictures, old-timey buses and other major artefacts from the multifold royal families of Jodhpur. Reasons enough for Umaid Bhavan Palace to be listed among the top places to visit in Jodhpur, without a misdoubt!

Located multiple kilometers out of Jodhpur, Mandore was the capital of Marwar before the cosmopolis of Jodhpur was initiated. Moment, the Mandore arenas are home to monuments of foregoing monarchs of Jodhpur. Constructed in deep red sandstone, one of the highlights of the amphitheaters is the Chhatri of Maharaja Dhiraj Ajit Singh, a beautiful amalgam of Buddhist and Jain configuration. What’s more, there are legion churches and church debris in the demesne of the amphitheater, which are a lensman’s delight!

Sprawling over an area of 84 square kilometers, the lake is a perfect spot for birdwatching and also offers stunning dusk views.
