Prince Coat

Prince coat for wedding season

Prince coats for grooms are glamorous piece of outfit that brings an instant oomph to a traditional
shalwar kameez. There was a time when men had a limited range of fashion wear for the wedding season hence there was a shift to western wear over traditional wear. On the onset of prince coats a new era of fashion was established for men. Prince coats are inspired by western fashion as they not only provide versatility but also provide warmth, especially in the winter season. It became a contemporary piece of outfit that every groom should own to stand out. The groom often wears prince coats with a shalwar kameez or kurta pants. In order to choose the correct fabric, let’s find out what type of fabrics are used and the process of manufacturing these fabrics.

How a men’s fabric produced in a factory

The fabrics of a prince coat are made by two processes, the spinning, and the weaving process. In the spinning process, raw cotton is turned into a thread whereas thread is woven into fabric in the weaving process.
The Spinning Process is divided into 7 basic steps:
• Mixing Process-The compressed fibre is unravelled using a mixing machine and rolled out into sheets called a lap. In the Mixing processes items such as leaves, sand, and seeds are removed.
• Carding- The long fibres are laid parallel to one another to remove fine fibres and dust.
• Combing In order to produce high-quality uniform yarn, the carded silver is combed to remove dust and short fibres that were missed out in carding process.
• Drawing-The fibres are transformed into string-like fibres called drawn to silver.
• Roving-Due to the thickness of the drawn silver it can’t produce yarn directly hence it is further elongated in the roving machine.
• Spinning-In order to obtain desired thickness, the yarn is further elongated in the spinning process.
• Winding-In this process the finished yarns are winded onto bobbins into cones or cheese as required.

Production of fabric

Once the fiber is spun it undergoes the weaving process. The weaving process consists of seven steps.
Weaving is done in looms where the warp thread and weft yarn are crossed over in a required set order to
produce the required type of fabric.
• Warping
• Sizing
• Drawing-in
• Weaving
• Folding-The fabric is folded, cleaned, and inspected into grades.
• Packing-The fabric is then packed according to the shipping requirements.
• The product-The end product is then sold in the market.
