Jordan Poyer and Micah Mut 22 coins Hyde are included in Madden 22's Top 10 safety players
Like all NFL teams, Buffalo Bills fans look eagerly for the annual Madden NFL 22 videogame from EA Sports. On Thursday, EA revealed the overall scores of the top ten safeties in this year's installment of the franchise. The top 10 will be like this:
Buffalo Bills fans might be surprised to learn that neither Jordan Poyer or Micah Hyde appear on this list.
Mathieu and Baker, Bates, Simmons, Smith, and Simmons are all deserving of their spots on the Top 10. The remaining five could, however, be debatable.
The scores of Hyde and Poyer are still not known. EA has not yet revealed the ratings of certain rookies or the top 10 players at specific positions.
When looking at Hyde and Poyer against other safety features included in the Top 10, one could begin to make a case for why they should be rated higher than some of their other safeties.
Poyer finished the year with 124 total tackles. He also recorded five passes blocked and two forced fumbles. Hyde was able to record 70 combined tackles, five passes defended as well as an interception. That's certainly similar to those of some safeties on Madden 22's Top 10.
Devin McCourty is a good place to begin. In 2020, McCourty finished with 68 combined tackles, six passes protected and two interceptions. McCourty's numbers are not that significantly more impressive than Poyer and Hyde's. Poyer is, at most, should be above McCourty. Hyde must be in the range of three.
Eddie Jackson is the next player being compared to. In the year 2020, Jackson finished with 82 combined tackles and forced fumbles. He also had three forced fumbles and five passes that were defended. Hyde's numbers warrant a higher rating that Jackson's. Hyde could also be given the same rating, or even lower than Jackson.
The final player who will be compared with is Jamal Adams. In 2020, Adams recorded 9.5 sacks and 83 tackles in a combined effort. He also defense of three passes, and forced to fumble. Adams is a formidable pass rusher but he is not the greatest safety. Adams is an excellent tool to use as a defensive tool but Poyer or Hyde are better safeties than Adams, and ought to be rated higher at the safety position in Madden 22,
