The Belgian Tervuren is a dog that can live indoors and outdoors. He should be inside with the family, but he requires entry to a gated backyard where he can't escape to pursue passing bike riders, runners, and cars.
Exercise your pup off-leash in a gated area if at all possible, alongside long walks and jogs. He requires at least one hour of physical activity per day (2 or 3 activities or play sessions). Your Tervuren would be delighted to accompany you when you go on a hike, jog, or your morning run.
Start training him for obedience, locating, or mobility competitions. It really doesn't matter what you're doing to just making him busy. Expect him to run in big circles on your lawn as a result of his herding lineage.
