According to a recent report, The Guest actor is one of the prime favorites to portray the iconic X-Men character in the MCU.
Several sources have reported that the “Beauty and the Beast” actor is the prime candidate to play the role of Magneto in the MCU Phase 4 storyline. One of the sources reporting this is very close to Mikey Sutton, who is the editor-in-chief of the website called “Geekosity’s Mikey Sutton.”
The news is in accordance with another report that had arrived a few days earlier that had suggested that the actor Dan Stevens is currently holding talks with Marvel to get a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to several reliable sources, the role was most probably of an antagonist character.
Well, now this new report has taken the story a step ahead and has added that the role for which the actor is being talked about is none other than the fan-favorite X-Men character “Magneto.” The new report makes a lot of sense as many of us firmly believe that Marvel was seriously in favor of signing Stevens in an antagonist role.
So, here is the breaking news, Dan Stevens is in contention (and a favored choice) to play the role of Magneto in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Do you want to know what Mikey Sutton had to say about all of this? First of all, he reiterated that one of his sources has indeed told him that Dan Stevens is being considered the new man to be the Magneto not only for the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also for the X-Men franchise. Mikey Sutton also added that Magneto is currently the only role the actor is being looked at for.
Although it makes a lot of sense for him to play the role of Magneto, there are several fans on the internet who have professed their wish that they would have loved to see him in the role of Doctor Doom.
You may wonder now, ‘why would it make sense if the actor plays the role of Magneto?’
Well, the preceding actors who have performed the role of X-Men villain are Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender. Both of the actors were from England, and so is Dan Stevens. So, it would have made a lot of sense based on the origins of the actors, which determines their natural accents and mannerisms.
Fans have no complaints about him playing the role of Magneto because he has the right natural looks and experience. He has ably portrayed the role of villains before, one of which is his performance as the beast in the film “Beauty and the Beast.” He had starred in the film alongside Harry Potter star Emma Watson.
Ever since Disney has acquired the rights to Fox, there has been a series of speculations after speculations pertaining to the X-Men’s inclusion in the MCU. Now, this new report has further cemented the notion that the merger between two massive storylines is indeed happening.
