After the killings related to a YouTuber and a TikTok influencer that we previously reported, more deaths have been connected to social media.
But this time, it involves a teenager who released a video of himself having sex with a teenage girl and who became the deadly focus.
Two men, ages 43 and 50, were detained this past weekend in Sarawak, Malaysia after they are accused of killing an 18-year-old man by beating him to death.
The youngster had uploaded a video of himself having sex with the 43-year-old man’s 16-year-old daughter.
The girl’s father proceeded to find the teenager, Phang Di Ran, as soon as he learned the news that the latter had uploaded videos showing his daughter sleeping with the teen. The teen was dating the man’s daughter.
Phang made a video of the pair having sex while they were together and shared it on the internet. The authorities who are investigating the case did not disclose the reason he did so.
After the father found the teenager, he reportedly confronted the latter and started to beat him up in public on the night of July 28.
The adolescent, who eventually died from his injuries, was allegedly beaten up by two male suspects, who have since been detained by police.
The adolescent was allegedly beaten up at a restaurant along a street around 1 am that night, according to acting Kuching district police commander Supt Merbin Lisa, who spoke to local newspapers in Sarawak.
The teenage victim later succumbed while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital. The case has been classified as murder.
The suspects aged 43 and 50 years are under remand until Aug 5 to assist police investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
“The incident was believed to have been sparked by the deceased’s personal romantic relationship,” says a police statement which also said that a post mortem was carried out.
Videos of the incident uploaded online depict the boy being punched, slapped and beaten with plastic chair.
The teen apparently was also apparently stripped of his clothes in public.
After the beating, the girl’s father sent the boy to a police station instead of a hospital. There, he accused the teen of sexually assaulting underage girls.
