The coat of Dogo Argentinos is white and short, although some may have a black mark on their head. You may think that maintaining the dog's short coat isn't difficult, but you will know the struggle when you get to groom such a large dog yourself. Aside from weekly brushing, Argentinos also need a bath at least every 3 months. These dogs do shed, but it won't be as obvious as with long-haired dogs. Nevertheless, lint rollers will come in handy.

As with all breeds, Dogo Argentinos also need early training and socialization to grow up well-behaved. They are strong and independent, and only firm trainers can handle these dogs' behavior without physical punishment or force. Needless to say, if you do not have enough experience in handling strong, independent dogs, it's best to look for another breed in the meantime.
