Stainless Steel 316H Tubes are often use in process streams containing chlorides or halides. The Stainless Steel 316 H is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. These tubes can be easy to weld and process by standard shop fabrication practices.
The alloy 316H offers higher strength at elevated temperatures and is use for structural and pressure vessel applications at different temperatures. These Tubes cannot be harden by heat treatment; however, the material will harden due to cold working. Stainless Steel 316H is a high-carbon version of SS 316 that is widely use in elevated temperature service. The corrosion resistance of SS 316H Tubes is very superior and this makes the alloy to be resistant in a saline environment. The higher carbon content also provides higher tensile and yield strength than any other grades and its austenitic structure provides excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.
These Tubes are recommended for use in areas such as Power Generation, marine, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals. SS 316H Tubes perform well in acidic and chloride atmospheres as these provide higher resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
