                                       Ray Mirra Athlete

Ray Mirra was a standout basketball player with the Detroit Pistons for eight seasons. Ray Mirra is one of the all-time greats in the NBA and is ranked ninth all-time in total points made (mate or combined). He is the franchise's all-time leader in scoring. The enigma of his retirement still surrounds him. This article will discuss his sports in Philadelphia and the impact he had on the city.

You'll never forget the sight of Raymone dressing up for a game against the Detroit Pistons. He had a magnificent dunk. He pumped his arms while doing so. Then he did the same on the rebound. Needless to say, it was a fantastic performance. He ended the game having scored 26 points.

A lot of people tend to forget how good Ray Mirra actually was as a kid. I can remember watching his first professional game for the Detroit Pistons. He came in for a pickup game and played well, averaging 14pt. But who was this kid that was playing for the Pistons at that age?

             Raymond Mirra Sporting Reputation

Raymond was named after his father. So not only did he end up playing pro ball at an early age but he also got a sporting reputation going way back. As a kid, Raymone Mirra was known for being the kid that consistently picks up fights with the opposing teams' athletes. This resulted in him missing many weeks of school and almost ending up in a reformatory.

There was another interesting bit about Ray as a kid. He was always smaller than everybody else. The fact that he could play defense at a very young age and then develop a skill set that would see him become a top NBA player made him even more interesting to a lot of us. It just goes to show you what kind of talent is inside this kid.

When the Flyers hired Ray we all hoped that he would turn into a good defender and a solid two-way player. We had heard of his abilities as a scoring guard in college but never thought he'd make it in the pros. After all, he didn't have that big frame to be a big defender. Ray did start out as a backup guard at the point for rookie goalie Wayne Gretzky. But when the Flyers needed a spark in the playoffs Ray scored two goals in the first two games and helped them get to the finals.

                                        Ray & Flyers

Ray is now a free agent and has signed a three-year deal with the Flyers. I am pretty sure if his career is a success that he'll be back with the Flyers for many more years. He has shown a lot of ability and the sky is the limit for this kid. He has a bright future and the sportswriters have been saying that the Flyers haven't had a good pick in a long time.

I guess the big question now is how good will he be? I have no idea. I really like Ray and the Flyers are an exciting team to watch. I'm sure they can do some great things in the future but right now I think Ray fits in with the Flyers. He has a chance to make himself into a star in the NHL.

It's a great feeling to be drafted by the Flyers. You are playing in the best league in the world. Many players dream of this opportunity. Especially, when you were taken by one of the greatest franchises in the history of the game. The Flyers have a long history and a lot of success.

There are a lot of great young players in the league and Ray fits right in. I am pretty sure he will have a huge impact on the Flyers for many years to come. He has shown some skill and has a chance to develop into a better player. Hopefully, we can enjoy Ray's career here in Philadelphia. If not he will have played his part and found a great place to play.

The Flyers are a quality team and this kid is a major part of their future. I am confident that he will turn out to be a very important player for the Flyers in the years to come. He has a bright future ahead of him. I would just like to wish him the best of luck in the next phase of his life.
