For the very first time Gay Fashion Show in Kolkata. An €nlighten India Productions
Throughout the twentieth century, clothing has been used by Lesbians and Gay Men as a means of expressing self-identity and of signaling to one another.
Many of the top couture Fashion Designs were gay, even though social pressure called for them to keep their sexuality quiet if not secret. A large proportion of gay men have worked in creative fields of fashion over the years, worldwide.
For the very first time in Kolkata, €nlighten India Productions conducted an entire Fashion Show representing Gay Models. The event was conducted on December 18th, 2021 in association with “Iconic Fashion Academy”.
The show was choreographed by Anjan Kar, Fashion Admin of €nlighten India Productions.
As a Production House, we took over from traditional tailors and gentleman's outfitters in men's fashion, a new definition of Gay Fashion became evident in the heart of Kolkata. Because Gay Men were often more willing to experiment with new ideas, styles, and fabrics in clothing. Moreover, gay men bought clothes that were influenced by and styled toward a gay aesthetic, so their taste influenced fashion in both obvious and subtle ways. Anyways we believe that gay men have more fashion sense and is an integral part of our fashion industry.
We as a house will always embrace the fact and will always glorify breaking the societal stereotype.
