Searching for a pair of open-fit wireless earbuds? Then the Huawei FreeBuds 4 is a good choice for you. The FreeBuds 4 are the latest model of Huawei’s ever-expanding series of music products.

Every week some new wireless earbuds get launched. So, Huawei has tried to make their FreeBuds 4 stand out from other relevant products. Well, it’s not just a competition with other related products available out there but also with its own FreeBuds Pro and FreeBuds 4i. However, FreeBuds 4i wireless earbuds are good and cheaper whereas FreeBuds Pro is comparatively more costly, but better.

At the time you put the earbuds in your ear, you will hear the following sound, which means they get connected. You can use either of them separately. In case you are willing to hear your music with your friend. When you remove either of the earbuds, it stops all the streaming including videos on your tablets, smartphones, and Chromebooks/laptops.

Know More About the Huawei FreeBuds 4

The Huawei true wireless FreeBuds 4 are the moderate-range alternatives in Huawei’s series of wireless earbuds.

Just like the FreeBuds Pro and FreeBuds 4i, these are ANC earbuds. Their tiny microphones release sound waves at particular frequencies to combat external noise. Unlike the other two music products, the FreeBuds 4 are “open-fit.”

The Huawei FreeBuds 4’s boast to be popular is an “all-new” active noise-canceling feature. This feature is supposed to manipulate noise to fit the unique size and shape of your ears. That’s not something you can test, so make of that what you will.

The Music Quality and Active Noise-Cancellation (ANC)

Silicone tips are used to isolate the speakers that prevent the sound from slipping out from your ears. But the Huawei FreeBuds 4 doesn’t include silicone tips, so you’ll have to listen at a higher pitch. For instance, I could utilize the FreeBuds 4i at 25% volume pitch on my Chromebook. Whereas, switching to the FreeBuds 4, I required to raise the volume pitch to 70% for a similar experience. That feels okay in a quiet place but missing isolation will make the listening experience at a noisy place less pleasant. Plus, listening at a high volume for a long time is also not good for your ears.

The bass of the earbuds will sound lower than it should. And which is another result of an unsealed ear canal. These earbuds aren’t for you if you like thumping bass or listen to R&B, raps, or other genres that feel good with bass.

However, if you don’t like headsets that drown out high sounds and vocals in excessive bass, you’ll surely be going to like the FreeBuds 4. They de-amplifies the low part, letting you hear vocal and string harmonics more easily.

I am not saying that FreeBuds 4 sounds poor. But if you accept the restrictions of their open-fit build, then these earbuds sound pretty good. Several people don’t like the “stethoscope” sense of in-ear earphones. For them, the FreeBuds 4 true wireless earphones are a good fit.

You can connect two devices at a single time (a smartphone and a laptop for instance). These truly wireless earbuds are advanced enough to understand which device you’re using simultaneously and can switch back and forth on them. This advanced feature also functioned impeccably on non-Huawei devices. It is a welcome addition if you don’t completely rely on Huawei’s ecosystem.

Battery Life of FreeBuds 4

The company boasts that the battery of FreeBuds lasts for 2.5 hours with Anti-Noise Cancellation enabled. And it lasts up to 4 hours when ANC is turned off. However, the charging case prolongs those hours to 14 hours or 22 hours respectively. An instant 15-minute fast charge offers you up to 2.5 hours of audio playback.
