Opening of Michigan Central Station
In May 2024, the Corktown location of the Michigan Central Station—which Ford Motor Company purchased six years prior—will welcome visitors. The station is anticipated to be the first to open in the area and to be the first inductive-charging road in the country.
Gordie Howe International Bridge completion
With 216 stay cables installed, the Gordie Howe International Bridge will open in late 2024 as a unique international bridge crossing. It is anticipated that the bridge, which will span 1.5 miles and meet in the center of the Detroit River, will mark a major advancement in global connection. The bridge will have an 11-foot bike and pedestrian walkway for free crossing, and the Detroit Documenters and Outlier Media have been involved in the building process.
Expansion of the Detroit Riverfront
The Southwest's Riverfront Towers, a major component of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy's expansion project, is scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. A new Riverwalk stretch on the adjacent land and a boardwalk in front of the unit is part of the project. This comes after the Southwest Greenway opens in 2023 and the Uniroyal Promenade links the riverside to the MacArthur Bridge on Belle Isle.

The historic landmark Hudson's Tower in Corktown is about to reopen, which will be a big deal for Detroit.
