A few days ago, Lexus officially released a set of trailers, indicating that there will be a brand-new F SPORT high-performance model that will be released on February 22, Eastern Time (Beijing time in the early morning of February 23). Although the official did not disclose any news, combined with the current information, the new car is likely to be based on the IS F built by the new IS.
At present, Lexus has released a total of two teaser images, one of which shows the door of the car. We can see that the doors of this F SPORT model are consistent with the new Lexus IS, but all the chrome trims are replaced with black trim, which also allows us to be sure that the upcoming model is based on the new IS.
Another teaser picture shows the “F SPORT” logo and the surrounding carbon fiber panels. Although the official did not specify what part of the photo it is, it reminds us of the Lexus RC F engine cover. The shape is relatively similar and worth noting. We saw the “Concept vehicle shown” logo (red box in the picture) in the lower right corner of this picture, indicating that this may be a concept version.
Combined with the earlier reports of the Japanese media, Lexus will release three F version models in November, namely IS F/LS F/LC F, these cars will be equipped with V8 engines. According to reports, IS F uses the 5.0L V8 naturally aspirated engine carried in RC F. According to news, its maximum power will reach 481 horsepower and the peak torque is 536 Nm.
