“We plan to deliver the project, as promised, in December of this year,” said Pat Hubbs, project manager for Perini Building Co.
The resort covers 22.5 acres of the 32-acre site it sits on. When complete, approximately 60,000 cubic yards of concrete will have been poured. That is equivalent to 18 miles of sidewalk five feet wide or enough concrete to pave both sides of the Strip three times.
The hotel tower has 455 oversized guest rooms and suites. Other structures under construction are a multi-use entertainment venue, 14 theaters and an IMAX theater, seven restaurants, a 10,000 sq. ft. banquet and conference facility, an 18,000 sq. ft. spa and salon, which overlooks a resort-style swimming pool. The Palms features a 95,000 sq. ft. casino with 2,200 slot machines.
The casino is an architectural statement unto itself. It is designed to be flowing with no corners or straight lines.
KGA Architecture is the executive architect for the Palms Casino Resort. The Los Angeles based, urban planning and architecture firm, The Jerde Partnership International, is the project's master planner and design architect for the exterior and interior of the main casino.
