Ezgjan Alioski left Leeds United after failing to secure a new contract.
The 29-year-old player came to Elland Road from the Lugano Football Club and made 171 appearances in four years, scoring 22 goals.
Alioski, whose contract expired on July 1, helped Leeds United return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years when Marcelo Bielsa's team won the Sky Bet title in 2020.
Leeds United said in the club statement: “Although the club made Gjanni an offer to leave, we were unable to reach an agreement with his representative. His existing contract expired last week.”
Alioski, who represented North Macedonia in the 2020 European Cup, played 36 times for Leeds United last season and the club finished ninth in the Eredivisie.
“I saw Gjanni would be special and the moment he walked into the building,” told director football, Victor Orta.
“When passing his contract with Elland Road was a beautiful moment and the emotions I saw on his face and the faces of his parents. I'm sure he will give his all for Leeds United.”
