Al Thumama Stadium has become the latest FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium to receive a five-star rating from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), which is regulated by the Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD).
This prestigious award is considered a symbol of success, design, and construction. Al Thumama loads 40,000 people designed by Qatari architect Ibrahim M. Jaidah to resemble a gahfiya hat worn by men and boys throughout the Middle East and the Arab world following Education City and Al Bayt's achievements an average of five stars.
GORD presented two certificates to Al Thumama's Executive Heritage (SC) Executive Committee: a five-star rating for GSAS Design & Build, and a Class A * GSAS Construction Management rating. The top leadership of SC and GORD were present at the awards ceremony, with delegates representing the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology, and the GSO Technical Subcommittee for Green Building Standardization.
