With the introduction of LTE technology, wireless technology has seen a significant improvement. Wireless customers living near LTE-updated towers now have access to speeds that permit video streaming and cloud computing.

In addition, fixed wireless is a way to get broadband unlimited high speed internet for rural areas access in a single place using radio waves. This eliminates the need for cable or phone lines.

Air Advantage Fixed Wireless Internet

Air Advantage has deployed new LTE-enabled fixed-wireless solutions in its network. It works. It's tested and proven. Fixed Wireless can be an alternative to fibre internet for those who do not have it.

Fixed wireless, like satellite service, uses an antenna to connect a radio to a transmission mast. However, fixed wireless, unlike satellite service, is not affected by weather conditions.

Fixed wireless solutions use a tower located on the ground (we use water towers, grain silos or similar structures to transmit the signal to your house). Latency is a key factor in any Internet connection. Therefore, lower latency is preferable.

Latency refers to the time taken for a signal to travel from one point to another. It is measured in milliseconds. Fibre latency is usually less than ten milliseconds. The latency for cable internet is usually between 100 and 150 milliseconds.

DSL has a latency of around 150 milliseconds. Satellite connection latency can be as high as 500ms. To provide the best Internet experience, we aim to keep fixed wireless latency below 100 milliseconds.

To provide the best service, upgrade towers.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Data Cap on Air Advantage Service

Data caps are limits that limit the data a connection can access in a given period. This is something many companies do. However, air Advantage has never imposed data caps on any of its services, even its fibre service.

While some companies claim they have unlimited data caps, Air Advantage does not slow down your service when you exceed a certain limit of data downloads. Air Advantage does not limit or slow down your service. Air Advantage doesn't believe that internet usage should be limited.

It is impossible for companies that need reliable, constant internet access to conduct business with data caps. However, small businesses with only two or three computers can easily access the lower data limits by uploading a few large files.

Air Advantage does NOT impose data caps. Large files can be downloaded or uploaded (software updates, large emails attachments, etc.). You can use a VoIP phone system to stream music to your office and access internet-based databases and applications as often as you want to keep your home, business, or both, running at their best.

What is latency? Why is it important?

Latency refers to the delay it takes for information over the Internet to reach you. Lower latency is better. Before reaching the Internet, satellite signals must travel from the dish through the satellite and back again to the provider's servers.

This distance can lead to high latency, which can make even high-speed connections slow. Fixed wireless connections only transmit the signal from the antenna to its nearest tower, usually within 10 miles. Therefore, fixed wireless is faster than DSL or cable connections and has a shorter latency.

Gaming is not the only one that suffers from latency. Every application on the Internet must have a fast response time. High latency connections can make VoIP phone services, streaming audio or video, difficult to use. This video will show you the benefits of Fixed Wireless and Fiber internet service over satellite connections.

Why does the Internet slow down at night?

Internet speeds slow down when more people are using the Internet. Microsoft states that “local Internet congestion” can lead to slower connection speeds when many users are connected at once. In addition, high ratios are used by Internet service providers to “oversubscribe” their users.

Internet service providers (ISPs) understand that not everyone can access the Internet simultaneously. Therefore, ISPs limit their subscribers to only a small portion of the network's total potential demand. As a result, many ISPs subscribe to a ratio of 20:1 or more. Air Advantage commits to not allow it to oversubscribe to access at a ratio greater than 10:1.

Are there any hidden fees other than the price you advertise?

Air Advantage has never charged hidden fees. There are no charges for modem rental and no taxes on Internet service. We recommend enrolling in auto-pay billing if you wish to reduce your costs. You can save as much as $4.00 per month by paying your bill automatically each month.

Do I need a router?

We will connect an Ethernet cable to your computer directly if you only intend to use one wired device such as a computer or laptop. However, suppose you intend to use multiple devices or connect all devices to a wireless network (wifi).

In that case, you will need to either provide your router or subscribe to our managed wifi router service. Again, ask our friendly staff to recommend brands and types we like. The installation includes a free router hookup.

This involves unboxing a pre-configured router and then physically connecting one wired or one wireless device to the router at the time. Unfortunately, the router hookup is not customizable and does not allow for customized passwords or security keys. View this video for more information about Air Advantage managed router service.

What can I do with the Speed Package I have?

Air Advantage has several speed plans to suit your needs. The 1Mbps package is ideal for browsing the Internet, checking emails and performing other basic tasks. Our 5Mbps package is suitable for streaming videos and online gaming.

You should also consider the 10, 15, and 20Mbps packages if you have multiple users who want to stream video across multiple devices.

Why doesn't my speed test show the speed I'm paying for?

It can be difficult to measure Internet speed online. Speed tests can be affected by both factors within and outside the Air Advantage network. The strength of the wireless signal to your location (i.e.

The outside connection to your router or home; if you are testing speed on a wifi network connection, whether it is stable (i.e., are you far from your wifi router? (if you are far from your wifi router). You should keep in mind that not all downloads can max out your connection.

Some downloads may be slower than others, but this is not due to slow internet or slow server. To ensure that you get the speed you pay for. We can run a speed test on your equipment and our transmission tower. For more information, please contact our tech support team.
