Day 2: Jan 25, 2018, 10.50 AM
San Francisco, California
Getting off the cruise, I decided to take a walk. I was neither sure where I was heading to nor I knew which place I was going to cover next. All I had in my mind was to have Pizza as it was getting close to lunchtime. With the hurried breakfast, I was so hungry and swamped. I even went into Trader Joe's assuming that it was a Pizza joint like Papa John's (FYI, Trader Joe's was a supermarket not a Pizza joint). As I walked past Fisherman's Wharf, I noticed this cute little thing called ‘Cable car'.

Cable Car near Fisherman's Wharf

I was aware that the cable car takes me to Powell St and that's exactly where I wanted to go. There are numerous Pizza joints near Union Square and I couldn't think of a better place. I waited for 15 minutes to get into a cable car and within the next 20 minutes, I was there at Powell St.

Most of the journey from the Fisherman's Wharf to Powell St were uphill and downhill. It was so interesting to witness how the city was built. To experience the city in a perfect way, I couldn't suggest any other option than taking the cable car. Trust me, the experience was out of the world. A must try if you're visiting San Francisco.

After reaching Powell St, I walked in the direction of my hostel in search of a Woodfire Pizza joint named “Del Popolo”. I was so swamped that I couldn't walk but the thought of having a Pizza enlightened my senses and it gave me a boost to walk uphill to get to the Pizza joint only to find that they operate between 5 and 11 in the night. Facepalm moment! With utmost frustration, I walked back and found another Pizza joint named “Uncle Vito's Pizzeria”. From the menu, I chose “Red Eye” which is a combination of Pepperoni and Red Peppers. Trust me that was the second-best Pizza I had in my life till date.
