Ahead of the 36th round against Gwangju FC in the Hana One Q K League 1 2023 at DGB Daegu Bank Park on November 11, Daegu FC will record its 10th sell-out of the season with all seats sold out at 2:25 p.m. on the 4th, 25 minutes after the general reservation began.
Along with this sell-out, Daegu achieved a sell-out record of four consecutive home games and a new record of the most sold-out in a single season, surpassing the 9th inning in which the K League and ACL games were combined in 2019.
Daegu, which finished the last 35 rounds, has 183,784 people in 17 home games, averaging 10,811 spectators per game, which ranks sixth in the league, and it is expected that the number of spectators in a single season in 2019 will exceed 203,900 by the final match of the season against Incheon.
Daepak, which is visited by an average of more than 10,000 spectators per game, has an overwhelming ratio of spectators among K-League stadiums, and is popular with fans of other K-League teams as well as its popularity beyond the first year of opening.
DGB Daegu Bank Park, which increased 50 seats to 12,469 this season to meet the 5% rule based on away seats to 12,419 seats, is increasingly competing for reservation, and not only supporters and Daegu fans but also away fans are increasingly demanding more seats.
Considering that it is possible to reach 15,000 seats, which is more than 2,000 seats higher than now when DGB Daegu Bank Park was built, expectations and demands for expansion continue on SNS and online communities, but structural changes based on scale expansion are not easy and the cost of input is expected to be significant.
Considering the characteristics of DGB Daegu Bank Park, it is not easy to change the stadium for expansion by the club alone as it needs to secure mid- to long-term plans and budgets based on precise safety diagnosis and detailed preparation of facilities due to the structure of aluminum floors and steel frames different from the existing construction methods.
Daegu FC is also scheduled to improve the areas that fans pointed out as problems and increase convenience facilities after the end of the season, but there is no specific plan yet to change the structure of the stadium itself.
