On mobile devices, it has impressive graphics and excellent performance. However, you'll need D2R Items pretty powerful phone to run it smoothly. With my Pixel 4a the game would lag and crash sometimes, and the phone ran very hot. It's also simply tough to keep in the loop of all the action with such a small display especially when you're trying to use specific skills. It is possible to alleviate this by playing on the tablet with the controller, but that's not enough. You could just play on your PC.

The PC version is still not as good, however. The game still looks like it's a mobile game on an too-large screen, due to its low resolution and its indistinct textures. The animations for characters that are not players are a joke particularly in the way they are played. But the visual problems outweigh the gameplay issues. The pathfinding system isn't working properly; rewards can't load in a timely manner as well; and worst of all, the attack button might just not work and nothing else than restarting the game can fix it. Imagine how much fun this is when you're on an intense dungeon hunt.

On the other hand the sound quality is quite good to Diablo's usual standards that include pleasantly atmospheric background music and excellent voice acting.

I don't hate Diablo Immortal, but I'm sure there are some who may. It's an insignificant title within a long-running franchise, and the F2P mechanics can be as disruptive as they look. But if (and this is a big “if”) you're able to make it through, there's an excellent game beneath it, that is enjoyable to play and a variety of games to try.

If you've never played the Diablo series before, this may be not the right time to start. I'd suggest Diablo III instead, which is available to try without cost on your computer. For Diablo fans, Immortal is at least worthy of a look, but be warned that the game will take up a lot of your time — or, more likely, a lot of your money.

The Diablo franchise is in a strange state currently. Diablo Immortal has been a soaring revenue-generating achievement for Blizzard however, it has hurt Diablo's standing due to its questionable, possibly predatory marketing. Diablo 4 has looked impressive in gameplay reveal trailers and the like, though some fans have expressed concerns that it could duplicate Microtransactions from Diablo Immortal. Blizzard has attempted to calm gamers about the microtransactions of cheap diablo 2 resurrected items but we'll never be sure of how it will work until the game goes released.
