Spring is a time to get outside and it offers the perfect opportunity for you to improve your outdoor space to fully enjoy the warm-weather months. Some top landscape design designers were invited to share their best tips and trends. We hope you find inspiration to improve your backyard for all seasons.

Bring the Indoors out

Many of our clients desire to be able to enjoy their homes, both indoors as well as outdoors. However, they don't want to sacrifice the comforts of the interior spaces. Landscape Design Bendigo can create a warm, welcoming atmosphere in any space. Lighting design can enhance the enjoyment of outdoor spaces. This includes gathering around an outdoor fireplace or climbing a staircase with subtle down lights to a glowing pool.

Create a comfortable gathering & entertaining space

“Cooking and entertaining is a major focus right now. The trends that will never go out of fashion are seating arrangements that allow for large and small gatherings, heaters and fireplaces to extend the seasons, as well as lighting that enhances the experience. Your interior decorator may be able to help you make outdoor living a part of your home. We are also seeing other trends for outdoor spaces such as a fully-equipped kitchen and bar, as well as a relaxing area. You can even add TV to watch sporting events, or audio to encourage singing and dancing. A screened-in porch or gazebo is an excellent option if insects are a problem in your area. It provides some warmth and protection in the spring and autumn, as well as providing shade from the sun during the summer.

Add Functional Kitchen & Bath Features

Are you looking forward to spring and outdoor entertaining this season? As you lounge poolside, grab your swimsuit and fill the fridge. An outdoor kitchen with a sink, refrigerator/icemaker, and storage cabinets can make your experience even more enjoyable. A landscape-integrated outdoor shower adds beauty and function to your property.

Be Inspired by Your Home's Interior

A great garden design layout will flow and show you how to move around the space, just like a great floor plan for your house. For garden layouts, we always consider interior architecture and design. This includes the view from the inside, how the rooms are used and when they are used. The colors and furniture must all relate to the outdoors. We created contemporary living and dining room terraces around a central garden of patterned stones and grass. This provided structured views along axial lines that ran from the upstairs and downstairs windows and doors.

Warm up with Custom Fire Pits

Custom firepits have been a focal point of many of our recent projects. A fire pit is a great way to bring the indoor luxuries outdoors. It's easy to set up and can be used for entertainment with just a click of a button.

Create a garden for the Kitchen

We have been receiving more requests for herb gardens, potager gardens, and organic gardens to ensure fresh, healthy food. This is the client's herb garden, located near the kitchen entrance to the house. It was created as a parterre and contains the client's favorite culinary herbs, planted in the same pattern as the boxwood hedges.

Water Feature

Water – which is often thought to be the source of all geneses – can have multiple effects as a design element. Its expression of movement, sound and color, capture and bending of light, and its effect on temperature and its sensual nature, are just some of the many effects it has. Its energy and spirit can be found in a meditative, playful, or meditative state. In the garden, its location and use are best suited to allow it to interact with the senses and move the soul.
