There is no doubt that spiti valley packages is every traveller’s dream destination. After all, the mesmerising mountains give a serene beauty not just to your eyes but to your heart. No doubt the roads and view of Spiti is the best part about it. The most apt description of these mountains that one can  find is when a scoop of vanilla ice-cream is sprinkled with chocolate syrup. In these beautiful roads and popular destinations like Kinnaur and Kaza there are a few places that are not as widely appreciated but become one of the most memorable stops of the whole journey.

Today’s blog is about one of such underrated places, which we believe should be more widely known and its beauty should be more appreciated. This place is Tabo, a secluded village of Spiti tour package. Here’s a few

  1. Stargazing in Tabo

There is no doubt that Spiti bike trip itself is a very beautiful Valley consisting of the most magnificent locations. All of the destinations provide fresh air and beautiful views, but Tabo is the best place to provide clear sky and the pretty view of stars. If you’re someone who’s interested in astronomy, do take a catalogue of star formations along with you and try to identify them from in the chilly nights of Tabo. And yes don’t forget to cover yourself with a cosy blanket and keep yourself warm.

  1. The Oldest Monastery

Tabo is a very small village but you’ll be surprised to know how many things it has to offer in such a small area. It has a history with it. Tabo is the oldest Buddhist enclave in India and has the one of the oldest monasteries of India, which is more than 1000 years old. The monastery is located at a walking distance from the village and you can go there to witness the Buddhist culture and history.

  1. Cosy Home-stays

If you go to Spiti Valley in winters, Tabo is definitely going to be one of your stops. Homestays are spread all over the Spiti group tour and provide the warmest stays against the harsh winter of Spiti. The heaters of these home-stays ensure that you don’t fall sick in the extreme cold temperatures, and the comfort food and hospitality of these home-stays give you a feeling of home and hearty warmth.

  1. Non Commercialised Destination

One of the reasons why Tabo should be on your Spiti Valley trip is that this location is yet to be commercialised. Unlike Kaza which is fully commercialised by now and is filled with cafes and shops, Tabo does not have even a single cafe or hotel but only local houses and shops. The shops here close by 8pm and give the feeling of a very secluded and slow life. In the fast hustle bustle of our metro lives, the peace and serenity is what we all need for an escape which this beautiful village provides.

So, here ends the few reasons of why you should explore Tabo, but in reality you can only understand once you visit and experience it yourself. But again Tabo is just one of the examples of such places and Spiti and other valleys are filled with such under appreciated locations.

We promise that we’ll be back with another blog on of other such destinations, but till then you book your Spiti Valley package and go on that long awaited trip to Spiti Valley trip. And yes don’t forget about Tabo on your way!
