There are various kinds of lift access control configurations. Like how different ways that a door access control system limits the rooms an inhabitant or visitor has access to, the same is valid for lift security systems.
The four principal lift access control arrangements are:
Private lift for general admittance to any floor. Occupants need approval to call the lift in the lobby. when inside the lift, they'll have the option to choose any floor to get to. An access reader, for example, a lift access control key card or elevator key fob scanner, is installed for approved clients to call the lift.
Public lift with private access to selected floors. In this design, everybody can call the lift utilising the call button in the lobby. In any case, they need to scan their credentials on an RFID reader to get to specific floors once inside the lift cab.
Private lift with private admittance to selected floors. Occupants need approved credentials both to call the lift and select wanted floors once inside the cab. Ordinarily, each inhabitant approaches specific floors. In this design, access readers are installed in the lobby and inside the lift.
Destination (or zoned) control systems. Additionally referred to as zoned lift controls, this system just permits lifts to be called utilising the destination operating panel (DOP). Thus, the access reader is associated with the DOP, and the lift system consequently chooses the assigned floor when inhabitants scan their credentials.
