EPAL pallets have become an important part of the business. If you are in an industry that deals with shipping products, then you must be aware of the EPAL. An EPAL is a Euro Pallet. These pallets are used in transporting all across Europe and the globe.

These pallets have been in use since the 1940s. Many suppliers and retailers use EPAL to ship goods to the end-user. Even chemical pallets or CP pallets are common. Many industries rely on these pallets to easily move goods from warehouses or manufacturing facilities to the users or retailers.

Euro Pallet Size

The standard Euro pallet size is in the size of 800 x 1200 x 144 mm. It is in compliance with the UIC 435-2. It is manufactured as per the license with the European Pallet Association or EPAL. Most users do not know that there are several standards that wood pallets must comply with.

The Euro pallet is designed as per the size specifications mentioned in Europe. Every detail, such as the height, width, and length of the euro pallet, is crafted so that the transportation can happen easily and safely. The standard euro pallet complies with the International Union of Railways standards.

The best benefit of the Euro pallets size is that it ensures a seamless transportation flow. The EU pallet size also makes sure that the goods can flow effortlessly from the warehouse to different regions.

Standard EPAL pallets may have a different size compared to the regular standard wooden pallet. However, the difference is just a few mm. EPAL was then born in the 1960s. The European Nations such as France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Holland, and Luxembourg wanted to have a conveniently sized box. International Union of Railways wished to standardize the pallets for easy loading and unloading.

Today the EPAL pallet are being used in the EU, North America, and Asia as a standard. Euro pallet size is not restricted to just one dimension. Other sizes include:

  • 800 mm × 1,200 mm
  • 50 in × 47.24 in
  • 1,200 mm × 1,000 mm
  • 24 in × 39.37 in
  • 1,000 mm × 1,200 mm
  • 37 in × 47.24 in
  • 800 mm × 600 mm

EPALS also have different numbers, like EUR 1 and EUR 2, based on the size. When you order EPAL pallets, you need to mention the size of the euro pallet or the number. T
