Titanium Fasteners and Super Duplex Bolts

Fasteners play a crucial role in modern engineering yet often go unnoticed. Whether it's aerospace, medical device production or a bike frame, the tiniest fasteners hold them together. Titanium is an element found in nature that is strong, light and resistant to corrosion. These features have led to the use of titanium for many different types of high end parts. Synthetic Titanium Fasteners are components such as bolts, screws, nuts and washers made of the alloys of titanium. They meet the requirements of utmost performance being used in, e.g. scenarios where the strength and durability is absolutely necessary such as aerospace, military and medical equipment. The first and foremost advantage of a Titanium Fastener is their ability to maintain strength even after losing weight. Compared to steel fasteners, they can be up to 40% lighter and have a higher tensile strength, which makes them a perfect selection especially in those situations where weight is one of the determining factors. Besides, as a result of their resistance to corrosion, these products also endures sudden changes in temperature so there is no danger of rusting and becoming unusable even one of the worst, harshest environments is their working place.

Super Duplex Bolts are forged from a stainless steel alloy called super duplex. It mainly consists of chromium, molybdenum, nickel and iron and is used for in places that require good corrosion resistance, strength and better heat resistance. These bolts have much bigger strength than standard stainless steels are quite flexible and with a great capacity to be welded. Chloride stress corrosion cracking is one of the main issues to be considered when this type of environment is very corrosive (like in salt water) and Super Duplex 2507 bolts has been determined having quite a good resistance to it. Besides, in comparison to other stainless steel alloys, these bolts also have significantly better resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion, which makes them highly suitable for chemical and petrochemical industries where they are exposed frequently to highly corrosive media.
