High-Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is an excellent way to get a great workout in a short amount of time. If you’ve never done a HIIT workout, there’s never been a better time to try it out. Try doing this workout the next time you walk into one of your favorite gyms in Brentwood. It can help you turn up the burn, test your strength, and just feel great all around.

How to Use this Workout

Although this workout is slightly challenging, you can adjust it to fit your current fitness level and experience best. Use this workout to gain energy and reach your wellness goals whenever you head to one of the best gyms in Victorville. To start, spend 5 to 10 minutes warming up. This should be jogging, walking, rowing, or cycling. Treat this HIIT workout as a circuit, moving from one exercise to the next. Aim to do four rounds with 30 seconds of rest in between, but feel free to rest a little longer if necessary.

Start with Burpees

Start out strong with a set of burpees. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, then bend down and place your hands on the floor. Kick your feet back so you are in a plank position. Keeping your elbows close to your body, lower your chest to the ground. Push back up into a plank, jump into a squatting position, and jump up with your hands as high as possible. Land in a squat and immediately start the next rep.

Move to Kettlebell Rows

Next, hold a kettlebell in each hand, palms facing inwards, feet shoulder-width apart. Keep your back straight and core engaged while you hinge forward on your hips. Your arms should hang in front of you, kettlebells resting just below your knees. Pull the kettlebells toward your ribcage while squeezing your shoulders. Pause, and then slowly lower the kettlebells.

Switch to Kettlebell Military Presses

Don’t put the kettlebells down yet. Go back to the starting position of the kettlebell rows. Keeping your elbows close to your body, palms forward, lift the kettlebells to your shoulders. Press the kettlebells above your head. Straighten your arms fully while keeping your core engaged. Pause, then lower the kettlebells back to your shoulders.

Keep Up the Energy with Jump Squats

You are probably feeling the intensity by now. Next, start with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointed slightly outwards. Keeping your chest up and core engaged, lower into a squat position. Explosively jump up, extending your arms as high as you can. Land on the balls of your feet, hips pushed back, and knees bent.

Finish on the Rowing Machine

Finish strong on the rowing machine. Each rep is 200 meters. Get situated on a rowing machine at one of the best gyms Antioch offers. Keep your arms straight and shoulders relaxed, holding the handle in an overhand grip. Slide the seat forward until your shins are vertical, with your knees bent. Your core should be engaged and your back should be straight. Push off with your legs, straightening them while leaning back slightly. Pull the handle towards your chest, bending your elbows to bring the handle close to your body. Once it touches your chest, extend your arms forward. Bend your legs, sliding back to the starting position.

And that’s the full circuit! It doesn’t take long to complete this workout, and you’ll work essentially every major muscle group. Keep it up, and you’ll start to see results. Be sure to go at your own pace, listen to your body, and take water and rest breaks as needed.
