FAQ
Why do broken links hurt SEO?
They waste crawl budget, hurt user experience, and — if you're the one linking out to dead pages — signal to search engines that your content is poorly maintained.
How many links does this check?
Up to 50 outbound links per run, in the order they appear in the HTML. For larger audits, split into multiple pages or use a paid crawler.
Why is a 403 flagged as broken?
Because a reader clicking the link gets an error page. Some sites aggressively block bots — if the link works in your browser but we see 403, it may be a false positive caused by bot-blocking.
Are internal links checked too?
Yes — every `<a href>` on the page, whether internal or external. Anchor-only links (`#top`), mailto, tel, and javascript: are skipped.
